American Global is excited to welcome Nitsel Mendez as Senior Vice President and key member of American Global’s national broking team. Based out of our Houston, Texas office, Nitsel brings more than 25 years’ experience in risk management and property & casualty insurance, Nitsel’s primary focus will be on large and complex loss sensitive casualty programs, including the umbrella/excess programs that sit above them. Nitsel will evaluate appropriate deductible levels and the associated collateral required to securitize those deductibles. Additionally, she will serve as liaison to third party actuarial and captive partners, as required, in support of loss sensitive casualty programs. Further utilizing her many talents and technical capabilities, Nitsel will also lend her expertise to the review of terms and conditions, leverage her market relationships in the negotiation process, and share her vast knowledge to help train and mentor her American Global colleagues in these areas.

Prior to joining American Global, Nitsel spent18 years at a large international broker building an impressive career, earning multiple promotions that led to her final role as Unit Manager, Account Executive and Senior Vice President. She began honing her skills at another global brokerage where she spent seven years working her way up to the position of Renewal Support Specialist. Nitsel’s knowledge now spans a wide range of industries including construction, transportation and energy, among others. She is a recognized leader who has earned a reputation for delivering both exceptional service and results.

Nitsel earned her B.B.A in Finance at Texas State University and holds multiple licenses and professional designations, including: Property & Casualty License (Texas), CPCU Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management(ARM), Associate in Underwriting (AU), Associate in Insurance Services(AIS), and Associate in General Insurance(AINS).
