The Matthews Group, Inc. t/a TMG Construction Corporation (TMG), a leading general contractor and design-builder in the construction industry, announced today that Jason J. Lynch has been named President of TMG. This is TMG’s first new President since it was incorporated in 1992.
For over 20 years, Lynch has played a prominent role in the construction industry. He has served in various leadership capacities with his most recent role being Vice President of Operations at TMG. Lynch has extensive knowledge of design-build, bid-build, and task order contracting. He has overseen the construction, renovation, and modernization of a wide variety of commercial, institutional, and government facilities. He is particularly adept at operations, workflow management and building streamlined project teams that work cohesively to deliver multiple, concurrent projects on aggressive schedules. It is his success at building profitable construction operations, expanding TMG’s geographic footprint, and exceeding customer expectations that makes Lynch the natural successor for President at TMG.
“After more than 30 years as TMG’s President, I will be stepping back from this role. It is time for fresh, new leadership and I am delighted to see Jason transition to President of TMG Construction,” said Tanya Matthews, TMG Chairman of the Board and President Emeritus.
Joe Matthews, Executive Vice President of TMG Construction said, “We have been planning for the next generation. Many of our Executive Committee members have spent our professional careers building TMG and we’ve built it well. Our obligation going forward is to ensure what we’ve done in the formative years at TMG will continue for decades in the future.”
As a Center for JOC Excellence Board Member and Trainer/Presenter, Lynch has traveled to the west coast on multiple occasions to educate construction companies about Job Order Contracts. He is a familiar face in his local community by participating in fundraising efforts with local school events and serving in volunteer roles with various organizations.
Lynch earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). He is married with two children and is actively involved with the Falls Church Education Foundation. Lynch is excited about the future of TMG and serving as President of this industry leading organization.
In addition to the folks previously mentioned, Lynch also credits this opportunity to his family including his parents and sister, his mentors, and all the wonderful industry partners he has worked with throughout the years.
Lynch shared, “I want to thank Joe and Tanya for their faith in me, this opportunity and for their leadership. This is all humbling, and I know I have some big shoes to fill. I have been mentored by some wonderful people since joining TMG in 2014. The people at this company are what drives TMG’s success. There are a lot of opportunities for everyone here and I look forward to the future. Let’s get to work!”
