The Architectural Glass and Metal Certification Council (AGMCC) which sponsors and coordinates the North American Contractor Certification (NACC) and Architectural Glass and Metal Technician (AGMT) programs, North America’s only third-party credentials for glazing contractors and glaziers, has entered into exploratory talks to identify collaboration opportunities with the National Glass Association (NGA), provider of glass industry resources such as MyGlassClass.com, technical manuals, and industry events. The move comes after AGMT successfully hosted its first testing event on the exhibit floor during NGA’s GlassBuild America 2024 trade show.
“We appreciate the opportunity NGA provided to host our first live AGMT testing event during GlassBuild America, giving attendees a look at the rigor and sophistication of AGMT certification,” said AGMT Program Manager Scott Kennett. “As both AGMT and NACC programs grow in recognition and participation, we are enthusiastic about relationships with leading glazing industry organizations such as NGA.”
“Witnessing the AGMT test in person and hearing from AGMCC board and committee members during their annual meeting after NGA’s GlassBuild America underscored the value of further collaboration,” said NGA Vice President of Workforce Development Jenni Chase. “Our member community is 1,800+ companies strong, and we take pride in being a resource to our members to help them grow successful businesses. Certification can be an important part of that success.”
For now, the two organizations have committed to a second AGMT testing event at GlassBuild America 2025, to be held November 4-6, 2025, in Orlando, Florida.
About NGA
Founded in 1948, the National Glass Association (NGA) combined with the Glass Association of North America (GANA) in 2018 to form the largest trade association serving the architectural glass and metals industry supply chain, including glazing contractors, full-service glass companies, glass fabricators, primary glass manufacturers and suppliers. NGA's education and training resources – including MyGlassClass.com, MyGlassFAB, andGlazier Apprentice Curriculum – and its official publications Glass Magazine and Window + Door, keep the industry informed. NGA also produces the industry's largest annual trade show in the Americas, GlassBuild America, and other conferences. For more information, visit glass.org.
The Architectural Glass and Metal Certification Council (AGMCC) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, public benefit organization formed with the intent of harmonizing stakeholders involved in two glazing industry initiatives offering certification to both contractors and technicians. AGMCC’s purpose is to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and sponsor the North American Contractor Certification (NACC) and Architectural Glass and Metal Technician (AGMT) programs for the contract glazing industry to assure that services to the public are performed in a manner that will tend to minimize defects and failures and to promote the standards, levels of competence, and/or performance requirements as determined by AGMCC.
