Join, the collaborative project delivery platform now used by >50% of the ENR Top 30 GCs, today announced that experienced industry leader Jason Brenner has joined the company in support of its mission to make construction projects–and the process of building them–more collaborative (and joyful!)
Brenner brings 28 years of experience to the role. Having worked for some of the world’s largest general contractors and owners on some of their most collaborative and technically complex construction projects, Brenner has strategic insight into the needs of the entire collaborative-project ecosystem.
Before Join, Brenner was Sr. Principal Project Manager for Genentech, where he worked with highly collaborative teams driving value for their patients. On the construction side, Brenner spent 4 years as a Preconstruction / Project Executive at XL Construction to deliver the Genentech ENR and ISPE award-winning project (ENR 2022 Best Manufacturing project and 2023 ISPE FOYA Award), their new Clinical Supply Center in South San Francisco. Brenner also focused on collaborative project delivery as a Sr. Preconstruction Manager for 10 years at DPR Construction.
Join Co-Founder and CEO Andrew Zukoski says the decision to hire Brenner marks Join’s transition from “learning mode to leading mode.”
“Listening to the industry is core to our DNA,” he explains. “We spent the past six years at Join listening to the industry on their needs around driving excellent owner outcomes. Now, we’re taking those learnings (across thousands of projects representing hundreds of billions of dollars in construction volume) and closing the loop. Jason will actively track and promote our customers’ best practices so that the entire industry can leverage them on top of the Join platform.”
When asked why he decided to transition from construction to construction technology, Brenner says he saw the value of Join while using the platform on projects, as both a Project Executive with XL Construction and later on the client side with Genentech. He saw “Join as an intuitive platform that could reinforce best practices in collaborative project delivery and affect industry change at a much larger scale.”
“If I can help Join customers realize the full value proposition of Join,” Brenner says, “from winning more pursuits, to better alignment of project teams, to ultimately providing owners with a world-class project experience – I will know I’ve succeeded.”
