Concrete & Materials Placement (“CMP” or “CMP Pumping”), a concrete pumping company serving areas across the Southeast, is excited to announce the promotion of Scott Wilson to Chief Operating Officer. Wilson has been in the construction and concrete industry for over 28 years, serving as regional sales manager for multiple companies, including CMP Pumping, and general manager for a ready-mix company.
“Scott has been impressive with his leadership skills, process management, and people skills since day one, says Owner and President Doug Doggett. “Quite honestly, Scott’s knowledge of the concrete business, his previous management experience, and his work ethic propelled him to be the choice for the Chief Operating Officer role.”
As COO, Wilson will assist the operations, maintenance, and safety along with the sales team to ensure CMP remains a leader in the Southeast within the Pumping Industry. “I am focused on growth in new markets and saturating the current locations we service,” says Wilson. “CMP has invested in our equipment which provides us the ability to adequately serve our concrete partners, and our ownership has also invested in our team to position us for growth.”
With this promotion, Owner & President Doug Doggett will be transitioning out of daily operations. While this is not a retirement announcement, it is a start to evaluating how to transition to a lesser role in the coming years. After 23 years directly involved in the operations of CMP, Doggett is confident in Wilson as a great leader with a long history of managerial experience in the concrete industry.
“I will work with Scott to transfer my duties to him in an orderly fashion so customers can expect the same commitment to Safety and Customer Service that is unsurpassed in the Carolinas,” says Doggett. “I have enjoyed working and developing relationships with the CMP team, both internal and external.”
From working at Penhall, Tendon Systems, and Wando Concrete, Wilson has practical concrete knowledge and leadership skills at larger firms to be a perfect fit for continuing to grow CMP. “Here at CMP, we have a variety of work performed every day, which keeps us on our feet. I can be on a high rise pouring vertical decks one day and tilt walls or heavy industrial the next,” says Wilson. “I look forward to my new role and the daily excitement, challenges, and relationships we continue to strengthen and build.”
