Dallas, May 7, 2019 – Skanska USA, one of the world’s leading construction and development firms, has promoted Kimberly Burke to vice president of business development.
In her new role, Burke will continue leading business development activities and help lead sales and marketing efforts on behalf of Skanska USA in North Texas. She will be responsible for strategic growth and development through effective business community relationships, marketing and sales efforts.
“Since joining us five years ago, Kimberly’s business development acumen has been invaluable, contributing significantly to our growth in North Texas,” said Todd Reeves, project executive of Skanska USA. “Her commitment, knowledge and expertise have helped us identify new business opportunities and substantially build our presence in this region as a true partner to our clients.”
Burke joined Skanska USA in July of 2013 as senior director of business development in Skanska USA’s Dallas office to spearhead firm growth and establish Skanska USA’s presence in the North Texas and Oklahoma regions. During her tenure in the position, she consecutively sold over $100 million each year and successfully pursued and penetrated new markets, acquiring a wide variety of new clients, including Saint Francis Hospital, Collin College and a high-profile public-private commercial development.
Before joining Skanska USA, she served as the vice president of business development at HOK. Prior to entering the A/E/C industry, Burke managed production for a comic book company in La Jolla, California, and worked for a large international advertising company.
Some of Burke’s most notable achievements include being a recent graduate of both the FBI Dallas Citizens Academy and the TEXO Executive Women’s Leadership Program as well as organizing and leading the planning team for the Annual Business Development Summit held in Dallas in 2017. She currently serves on the Downtown Fort Worth Inc. board of directors, the Association of Medical Facility Professionals sponsorship committee and is an essential member of the recently formed North Texas Healthcare Think Tank. Previously, she has been the chair of Skanska USA’s Women’s Network Southwest Chapter and a board member of The Real Estate Council.
Burke received her graduate marketing certificate from Southern Methodist University and her bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of North Texas.
