The House has passed a defense authorization bill that now includes language that says the government cannot require project labor agreements by contractors or favor ones who have them in place.
An amendment adding the ban passed 211-209 last Thursday, and the entire bill passed Friday.
The amendment came from Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R-Md.).
The House Appropriations Committee has added similar language to the FY 2013 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill.
