CoreLogic Home Price Index — Oct. 4
CoreLogic will release its August Home Price Index on Tuesday, Oct. 4. Last month, CoreLogic announced home prices increased 1.1% between June and July and 6.0% between July 2015 and July 2016. July's price hike was once again higher than CoreLogic's prediction of only a 0.6% gain.
CoreLogic Chief Economist Frank Nothaft said that if the environment of low mortgage rates and employment growth continues, those factors will continue to drive home prices higher.
In last month's report, CoreLogic predicted home price growth would slow between July and August and rise only 0.4%. Will Tuesday's report once again reveal an underestimation of price growth?
