Safety Week feature article — May 3
This week marks Safety Week 2016 and OSHA's National Safety Stand-Down. Companies, officials and industry associations will come together to emphasize the need to ramp up safety efforts. Safety is an ongoing concern for construction executives and managers, as construction is one of the most dangerous industries in the U.S., and private construction fatalities increased in 2014. In our feature article on Tuesday, May 5, we'll take a look at which construction industry initiatives OSHA is focusing on, as well as explore what makes a successful safety program for construction companies.
CoreLogic Home Price Index — May 3
CoreLogic will release its March Home Price Index on Tuesday, May 3. Last month, CoreLogic announced home prices rose 1.1% between January and February. That price growth was significantly higher than CoreLogic's prediction of a 0.5% increase.
Anand Nallathambi, president and CEO of CoreLogic, said in a release, "Improved economic conditions and tight inventories continue to drive exceptionally strong gains in many markets, especially for homes priced below $500,000."
In last month's report, CoreLogic predicted home prices would rise 0.6% between February and March. Will Tuesday's report once again defy CoreLogic's expected increase, or will price growth start to slow?
