Last month, we launched our year-long series, "The Dotted Line," exploring different facets of construction contracts each month. Our first installment delved into the pros and cons of guaranteed maximum price contracts.
On Tuesday, Feb. 9, we will publish the second installment in the series and investigate construction bonds. Being able to provide performance and payment bonds is vital if a contractor wants to pursue most publicly-funded projects, and even some larger private projects. We'll ask the experts about the bonding qualification process, alternatives to bonds on private projects, and what happens when things go wrong and there is a claim made against the bond.
