Boston-based builder Suffolk Construction has tapped former Turner Construction exec Darin Hart to lead growth in its manufacturing and advanced tech segments, the contractor announced in a Sept. 26 news release.
As the company’s new senior vice president of advanced technology, Hart will leverage his 35 years of experience and strong relationships to grow Suffolk’s advanced technology and manufacturing project portfolio, according to the release. The builder said that Hart’s expertise integrating tech and predictive analytics will be crucial to maintaining its competitive edge and delivering real-time insights to clients.
Hart spent more than 23 years with New York City-based Turner as a deputy operations manager and vice president, according to Hart’s LinkedIn profile.
Suffolk hired Hart during what it sees as a crucial time for the advanced technology and manufacturing sector — the contractor noted statistics from the U.S. Department of Commerce, which expects the U.S. to manufacture nearly 30% of the world’s leading-edge semiconductors by 2032.
Indeed, the sector is having its moment, as massive builds continue to pop up across the country, and large contractors, such as Fluor, see data centers and semiconductors as a core part of their strategic focus.
“By continuing to leverage data and the most sophisticated tools, technologies and processes available we will be one of the most sought-after partners in the market," Hart said in the release.
