Picking up where it left off last year, New York City-based STO Building Group created two additional leadership roles this month and filled them with former executives of New York City-based developer Related Cos.
The firm named Michael Trovini as the first president of the organization, while appointing Scott Allan as its inaugural chief risk officer.
According to his LinkedIn account, Trovini was most recently president and CEO of Boston-based Suffolk’s self-perform unit, Fuse Group. Prior to that, he spent over a decade at Related Cos., where he worked on the high-profile redevelopment of Hudson Yards in Manhattan. He’s also held development and investment roles at Irving, Texas-based Archon Group and New York City-based Goldman Sachs, and has expertise in action plans for distressed properties, according to a news release.
“We have evolved significantly in the last few years, and we needed a president role to align our leadership team accordingly,” said Bob Mullen, STO Building Group CEO, in the release.
Allan, the chief risk officer, spent more than seven years at Related Cos., also as a risk officer, according to his LinkedIn page. Before that, he served as risk manager for several large-scale real estate development firms and worked as a managing director and practice leader for brokerage and consulting services firms, according to the release. Allan’s background includes complex claim and litigation management, contractual risk transfer and catastrophic loss recovery.
The new hires follow four executive appointments in December at the organization, which comprises 14 construction-focused brands, including New York City-based Structure Tone and Pavarani McGovern; Fairfield, New Jersey-based RC Andersen; Toronto-based Govan Brown; and Seattle-based Abbott Construction.
Trovini and Allan are both based in the company’s New York City headquarters.
