Bennett Fisher made real estate transactions for 10 years without finding a way to get good answers about the energy efficiency and retrofit needs of buildings within the 30-day escrow period for getting deals done.
In 2009, when he was a student at MIT's Sloan School of Business, he fixed the problem with new software, and now he has a company that makes and sells it and has attracted venture capital.
"There's a $400 billion market for retrofits and only a portion of that is looked at today," Fisher told Greenbiz.com.
