This week marked the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's annual National Safety Stand-Down To Prevent Falls in Construction as well as Safety Week 2016. Companies, associations, and other industry groups came together to hold safety awareness events nationwide as part of the third year of both initiatives.

In our article earlier this week, construction safety experts explained how they build company cultures rooted in safety and offered advice for managers looking to improve their employee outreach. We also spoke with Skanska USA CEO Rich Cavallaro, who said safety is one of his company's core values. "If we can't keep people safe, then we're not doing something right," he said.
