PCL Construction has acquired The Companies of Nassal, an Orlando, Florida-based specialty theme fabricator and program manager, for an undisclosed amount, the contractor announced on May 22.
PCL, with U.S. headquarters in Denver, acquired the company to meet the evolving needs of clients in the entertainment, cultural, hospitality and gaming market sectors, according to the release.
The two companies will operate separately under the acquisition, according to the release. Nassal will continue to execute on its current growth strategy under its existing leadership and management teams, and its market identity and strategy will not change.
The two companies have a history — their business relationship began 20 years ago with the development of a themed children’s play area for a major amusement park. Since that time, the two have worked on over 35 projects across North America, per the release.
Nassal’s clients include Universal Parks & Resorts, SeaWorld, Coca-Cola and the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers, according to its website.
“Acquisitions are rare for PCL and only considered if they are strategically aligned with the company’s goals,” said Deron Brown, PCL president and chief operating officer for U.S. operations. “This partnership presents an opportunity for us to enhance the value we offer our clients with an additional layer of expertise.”
