The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is demanding a six-figure penalty from a New Jersey contractor that OSHA says did not have property safeguards in place for scaffolding its workers were using.
DD Stucco and Renovation LLC of Clifton, N.J., was cited for six safety violations, two of which OSHA deemed to be willful, at a Mountain Lakes work site where it had three workers. OSHA inspected in November 2011 as part of its local-emphasis program on falls and now has proposed a total of $108,240 in penalties.
OSHA has made a push in recent months to fight fall hazards.
