The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) offers free on-site consultation on health and safety for small businesses.
In 2010, the program visited approximately 30,000 businesses. The consultants offer confidential, non-punitive advice.
"For a small business, OSHA regulations can be both unwieldy and costly. Between inspections and improvements, business owners often don't know where to start," Findlaw.com says. The program is aimed at alleviating that problem.
