The New York City Department of Planning has proposed a citywide zoning code amendment that would remove impediments to constructing and retrofitting green buildings.
The department said its proposed "text amendment" will undergo a complete public review before becoming law. It addresses, among other steps, energy-efficient walls, rooftop solar and wind power and electric-vehicle charging.
