The 51-floor One Bryant Park office tower in Manhattan is the first new commercial high-rise to achieve LEED platinum status.
The building, officially known as One Bryant Park – Bank of America Tower uses co-generation for 70% of its power needs and has heat-reflective exteriors and has a basement ice machine that makes ice overnight when power demand is power and stores it for daytime use.
The building also preserves a 1918 theater facade that had been on the site at West 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue and has a 1,000-seat professional theater.
