Here are five recent announcements from software makers and other tech providers about new products or updates to existing products that are designed to smooth out construction for contractors:
eTakeoff
eTakeoff, a leading provider of takeoff software for construction estimating, has announced its partnership with artificial intelligence firm Togal.AI. The partnership will integrate Togal.AI’s innovative artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies with eTakeoff Dimension.
The integration will enhance eTakeoff Dimension’s capabilities by automating the estimating process, which is typically handled manually with rollers and rulers or a computer mouse. However, Togal.AI’s algorithm uses AIA measurement standards to automatically detect, label, and measure project spaces, according to a press release.
While Togal.AI provides immediate gains in time savings, accuracy and efficiency, it improves with use, the firm says. Its machine learning engine remembers edits and anticipates corrections, so projects become more tailored to the needs of the user.
eMod
The contractor safety platform has announced its latest integration with construction management software provider Procore. The partnership will enable data migration between Procore and eMOD applications to help reduce the time spent manually filling out daily documentation, making it easier for users to set up, coordinate and manage safety tasks, according to a press release.
Users will be able to pull newly created Procore projects into eMOD without recreating the project. They also can submit a pre-task planning form in eMOD and the data will automatically create a Procore daily log in the same project.
Topcon Positioning Systems
The firm has announced 2D-MC, an automatic grade control solution for compact track loaders. Now available in North America, 2D-MC is a 2D machine control system that is designed to be installed directly onto select grading attachments.
Connecting directly to the machine’s controls and a wireless display, the solution employs rotary laser technology to provide simplified operational visibility. The company said this gives operators the information they need to hit target grade with greater precision and in less time, according to a press release.
The 2D-MC system utilizes laser receivers to work with rotary lasers. If a user is familiar with rotary lasers, no additional tooling or training is needed to determine the correct grade for the grading attachment, the company said.
RedTeam Software
Construction management software provider RedTeam has announced an integration partnership with cloud ERP firm Acumatica. The partnership’s enterprise-wide workflows will connect construction teams across a project by providing real-time access to financial and field information to support data-based decisionmaking and optimal operating efficiency, according to a press release.
With the integration, Acumatica users will have access to RedTeam Flex’s project management features for preconstruction, contracting, scheduling and field management. RedTeam Flex workflows support enhanced accounting functions, including contract compliance, invoice approval, equipment management and work in progress.
AirBolt
The company’s enterprise platform is GPS tracking technology that can support tens of thousands of trackers, locks and access points from one customizable dashboard.
With a small footprint, AirBolt accurately tracks toolboxes, compressors, generators, vehicles, machines and other expensive jobsite equipment and provides real-time reporting on disturbance and unnecessary motion and water detection.
Contractors can track items with live GPS and next-gen cellular connections that can be managed and viewed through an app, according to a release.
