Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Moss Construction has won a $182 million contract from FC Dallas to perform renovation work on Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
Work on the east side of the Major League Soccer stadium is currently underway, according to a release shared with Construction Dive. Moss Construction and FC Dallas hosted a joint groundbreaking March 26.
Aspects of the renovation include:
- Three new clubs.
- Renovated north, east and west entrances.
- An “architecturally distinctive roof structure” designed to provide shade for guests at the stadium.
- Expanded seating capacity (the venue currently has 20,500 seats).
- New suite levels.
- Increased concessions and restroom locations.
- The largest video board in an MLS soccer-specific venue.
FC Dallas will continue hosting MLS matches at Toyota Stadium during the renovation process.
“This is not your typical renovation. We're constructing the new Toyota Stadium while games are still being played without compromising the fan experience,” said Moss Construction Senior Vice President Jim Cuddihee in the release.
The east side will reopen by summer 2026, per the release, as work shifts to the west side, with the full renovation expected for completion by the first quarter of 2028.
