The developer of a waterfront luxury condo development in Florida has selected a general contractor for its next phase of construction.
Tampa, Florida-based Coastal Construction will lead the pre-construction planning for the next part of Marina Pointe, a three-tower development in Tampa.
Plaza Construction, headquartered in New York City, constructed the first tower of the development at the Westshore Marina District, which was completed in May 2023, according to Commercial Construction and Renovation Magazine.
Construction of the second tower will begin later this year, and it will include 151 new luxury condos ranging from 1,100 to 3,300 square feet. It will also feature seven 3,300-square-foot single-family “Harbour Homes.”
Marina Pointe is the centerpiece of the 52-acre Westshore Marina District, located on a private peninsula. The development includes shopping, dining, trails, boating and water sports. Other amenities will include a full-service marina, fitness center, resort-style pools, an entertainment room and virtual golf simulator.
Founded in 1988, Coastal Construction is a fifth-generation, family-owned business. The contractor specializes in high-end properties, such as condominiums, resort towers and luxury homes. Its portfolio includes over 10,000 residential units and 50 hotels.
Fort Lauderdale-based BTI Partners identified the site and developed the plan for the project, and three LLCs — Marina Pointe East Developer, Marina Pointe Central Developer and Marina Pointe West Developer — are developing the three towers.
Correction: This story has been updated to clarify BTI Partners' role on the project, as well as to identify the developers of the condominium towers.
