Dive Brief:
-
Like construction companies all over the country, those in Colorado are having a tough time recruiting skilled workers. So they’ve launched a mobile app to connect job-seekers with job sites.
-
The app and Web site, called BuildColorado.com, lists job openings and apprenticeships available in the state. It also has a section pitching the virtues of construction careers and another aimed at convincing parents and educators to talk up the job-site.
-
Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper endorsed the app as industry leaders joined him at the state Capitol for its launch.
Dive Insight:
The app and Web site offer information and resources, but won’t vet applicants or participate in hiring. Still, site managers will verify job listings before posting them on the site.
