The city of Houston has joined the Better Buildings Challenge, a public-private partnership designed to improve energy efficiency by 20% in buildings across the country by 2020.
The challenge has about $4 billion in federal and private-sector funds, which it will use for building energy upgrades in the next two years, according to a report in the Houston Business Journal.
