Greeley, Colorado-based Hensel Phelps has named Brad Jeanneret as its new president and COO along with other leadership changes, the company said in a Jan. 8 press release.
Jeanneret has worked for the firm for 27 years, most recently serving as executive vice president. He took over the president role on Jan. 1 from Mike Choutka, who will continue to serve as CEO and chairman of the board. Choutka has been with the company since 1991 and was CEO and president since 2019.
A graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in construction science and management, Jeanneret's career with Hensel Phelps started in 1996 in southern California, where he worked as a field engineer, according to the company website. Since then, he has worked at numerous offices throughout the country.
Jeanneret will lead the execution of the strategic plan and focus on operations across all regions and business units, said Hensel Phelps spokesperson Krista Henery in an email.
“Jeanneret will also oversee all corporate departments within Hensel Phelps to ensure that operational plans align with the company’s overall strategy,” Henery said.
As chairman and CEO, Choutka will continue setting the overall strategic direction and vision of Hensel Phelps, as well as providing leadership to the board of directors and executive team within the organization, Henery said.
The firm also added two new executive roles: chief administrative officer and chief health and safety officer. They will support the company’s growth and safety culture, respectively, according to Henery.
- Matt McCaulley, a 25-year company veteran, will oversee key corporate operational support departments as chief administrative officer.
- Jerry Shupe, who worked for Hensel Phelps for 22 years, was promoted to chief health and safety officer and will continue to lead the firm’s health and safety strategy.
Hensel Phelps also announced additional leadership changes in January:
- Tom Diersbock, who has worked at the company for 28 years, was promoted to executive vice president. Diersbock most recently led Hensel Phelps’ Pacific region, and will now oversee operations in southern California, northern California and the Pacific regions.
- Jon Tseu will replace Diersbock as regional vice president for the Pacific region. Tseu has spent 26 years with the organization at multiple locations. He spent the past seven years as an executive in the Pacific region.
- David Brooke has been promoted to regional vice president of the mid-Atlantic region. Brooke has been with the company for 18 years, and most recently served as an operations manager in the Mid Atlantic region.
