Nationally, Thursday, Nov. 15, is set as America Recycles Day, a national plug for all of us create less waste. Associated General Contractors is using the opportunity to raise awareness of how much contractors all over the country do all the time to recycle and reuse materials.
In construction, recycling can take concrete, steel, asphalt and wood out of the deliveries to landfills, and companies are also finding ways to recycle materials such as oil and shingles, and wash water.
"More contractors are recycling on site, saving money on landfill fees, new materials, and even wear and tear on trucks taking waste to landfill site," AGC notes.
