DPR Construction has topped out its 12-story Eleven50 Eastlake life sciences project in Seattle, the Redwood City, California-based builder told Construction Dive. The 450,000-square-foot facility includes mission-critical lab and office space with retail on the ground floor. DPR declined to share the cost of the project.
Construction began in January 2021 and is set to wrap this year. Over the course of the 12-story project, the builder ran into challenges stemming from the pandemic, according to DPR Construction Project Executive Michael Pearson.
“As with most projects started during the pandemic, our team ran into obstacles along the way ranging from supply chain issues to COVID-19-related shutdowns,” said Pearson in an email. “We’re proud that the team remained resilient and met the challenges head on.”
San Francisco-headquartered architecture firm Gensler designed the building, which also includes spaces to work, eateries and event spaces. It will target LEED-Gold certification, per DPR Construction.
Remaining work includes completing the glass curtain wall façade; rooftop mechanical, electrical and plumbing; landscaping and hardscaping; interior core and amenity spaces, according to DPR. Its teams are currently progressing through the building interior to complete the tenant buildouts.
Signed tenants to Eleven50 include pharmaceutical and biotech companies Umoja Biopharma, Variant Bio, Notch, Altpep and Outpace Bio, according to the Daily Journal of Commerce.
