Dan Probst, chairman of energy and sustainability at Jones Lang LaSalle, says green has proven itself economically in many cases, and governments are throwing support behind it through retrofitting efforts and energy-consumption standards for construction.
Five major U.S. cities and two states have enacted energy performance measurement and disclosure policies, and nine more cities and states have bills in consideration, Probst said.
