- A 32,000-square-foot project in Milton, Ontario, will be Canada's first net-positive-energy office building, contractor Del Ridge Homes says, and is doing it for less per square foot than a comparable conventional building.
- The building, which includes geothermal systems, roof-top solar, concrete-form walls that are insulated on both sides and go to the footings, should produce about 168,000 kilowatt-hours of energy while requiring about 100,000.
- “We’re practical people and very hands on,” says partner George Le Donne said. “Practicality is what is missing in this industry.”
