- A new report from the U.S. Green Building Council has issued a report on residential building that has been certified for the group's LEED status, and it says that California leads in the number of homes, followed by New York and then Texas.
- The report, which USGBC calls "LEED in Motion: Residential" combines a report on green residential construction to date in the U.S. and globally and is intended to stimulate demand for it.
- Building houses to LEED standards, USGBC said, saves 20% to 30% is costs for energy and water compared with houses built to conventional codes.
