- Takashi Moriyama told the Japan Times that Hadid and her team specified a material for the roof that can catch fire and the team should have examined her specifications because of what he said is her stubbornness.
- The design and size for the 80,000-seat stadium in the chosen location offended some architects enough that they conducted a public petition campaign against them.
