Park Tower Group, the developer of 535 Madison Ave., a signature class-A commercial building located on Madison Avenue at 54th Street in New York City, said the USGBC has awarded the building its LEED Gold certification for existing structures.

The 38-story building met LEED standards through the integration of many of the latest sustainable building materials and systems into the building's operation, effectively minimizing its environmental impact, the owners said.

Among other systems, the building uses 30-ton, water-cooled package units on each floor to control environmental conditions, the owners said.
