Redwood City, Calif. (May 11, 2017) — Rudolph and Sletten, Inc. today announced the key appointments of three industry professionals within its Southern California team. Rene Olivo was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations for Southern California, Ray Polidoro is the firm’s new Vice President in Los Angeles, and Jack McMackin is Business Development Executive in Irvine.

Rene Olivo previously served as Vice President of Operations for Rudolph and Sletten’s San Diego office. In his new role as Senior Vice President of Operations, he will now work from the firm’s Irvine office, providing additional oversight for projects throughout the other areas of Southern California. As a part of the company’s Executive Steering Committee, Olivo will work closely with company leadership, primarily focusing on supporting each project team to ensure high standards and optimal value for project owners. He will also continue to spearhead the firm’s subcontractor diversity initiatives and project participation efforts with minority, women and veteran-owned business enterprises.
With more than 26 years of construction industry experience, Olivo has made his career at Rudolph and Sletten, starting as an engineering intern on a cardiovascular healthcare project in Temecula. Since that time, he has moved up the ranks into management and executive leadership positions, helping open the firm’s Irvine office in 1991 and building an impressive portfolio of work for the company. His resume encompasses notable projects for clients such as Amgen, Ahmanson Theatre, Hewlett Packard, Judicial Council of California, Kaiser Permanente, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, San Diego Zoo, Sharp Healthcare, the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and UC San Diego, to name a few.
Experienced in Lean Construction principles, Olivo holds a Professional Certificate in Lean Enterprise and a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional and was named among the 2015 Top Influentials by the San Diego Daily Transcript.
Ray Polidoro, AIA, brings nearly three decades of architecture and construction industry leadership experience to his position as Vice President at Rudolph and Sletten. In his new role, Polidoro will help increase the firm’s market share in the greater Los Angeles area by bringing Rudolph and Sletten’s full spectrum of building services to clients throughout Southern California.
A California native, Polidoro has spent most of his career in downtown Los Angeles. His local knowledge is complemented by proven capabilities in the areas of architectural design and construction management services, business development, financial cost control management, strategic planning and organizational development.
Immediately prior to joining Rudolph and Sletten, Polidoro served as Manager of Design and Construction, Capital Program for the Judicial Council of California. His most recent project entailed managing the development and construction oversight for a new $555-million San Diego Central Courthouse—the largest project in the State of California’s $5 billion Judicial Branch Facilities Bond Program. In addition to judicial projects, Polidoro’s resume spans multiple public works and education programs, as well as large-scale commercial and residential development projects throughout Southern California and Hawaii.
Active in numerous professional organizations, Polidoro has served as Professional Practice Committee Member for the American Institute of Architects, as well as Student Outreach Committee Member, USC Liaison for the Construction Management Association of America. Polidoro is a Registered Architect in the State of California, is a LEED Accredited Professional and has a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Southern California.
Jack McMackin comes to Rudolph and Sletten with 39 years of experience developing new business opportunities for both project owners and builders. As Business Development Executive, McMackin will use his expertise from both an owner and contractor’s perspective to better understand and meet the unique objectives of Rudolph and Sletten’s clients.
Before joining Rudolph and Sletten, McMackin’s most recent position was as National Business Development Manager for Petra Integrated Construction Strategies. Additionally, McMackin was Healthcare Business Development Manager for another major general contractor and held various field and management positions for low-voltage and plumbing specialty contracting firms. Primarily serving the healthcare industry in California, Arizona and Texas, McMackin also has project experience in life sciences, education, entertainment and hospitality market sectors.
Dedicated to the communities where he lives and works, McMackin was a board member for the American Heart Association, Orange County Division for eight years. He also supports the workforce development efforts of the design and construction industry by mentoring high school students through ACE Mentor, Los Angeles and Orange County chapters.
Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, McMackin studied Civil Engineering at California State University, Northridge and served as a helicopter pilot in the United States Marine Corps for six years.
